What is included in the cost of the trip?
The cost of the trip includes everything the group does together (lodgings, classes, tours, restaurant meals, etc.). It does not include airfare or other travel costs.
What are the accommodations like?
Accommodations are always private residences instead of hotels, but the nature of the residence varies for each trip. Some have professional kitchens; others more modest kitchens. Each couple has their own private room and bathroom. Single travelers have a private room and shared bathroom (with one other person).
What experience is necessary?
No particular experience is necessary! The trips are designed for beginners. However, they are intense and rigorous. The trips are designed for those who have a serious interest in food and wine and want to learn.
What if I have physical limitations?
Most of the trips require being in very good physical shape. Often we are on our feet for several hours at a time and might walk up to 4 or 5 miles per day.
What if I have to cancel?
Payments are non-refundable. Trip insurance, while not technically required, is strongly recommended. AIG’s Travel Guard is a good example.
